The PM's official spokesman said: 'The Prime Minister raised the US decision to apply tariffs to EU steel and aluminium imports which she said was unjustified and deeply disappointing. Donald Trump's administration imposed new trade tariffs on steel and aluminium imports into the US on the EU, Canada and Mexico. The US government has announced it will begin imposing steel and aluminium tariffs on US allies Canada, Mexico and the European Union. On 1 March, Trump announced he was introducing a 25 per cent charge on steel imports and a 10 per cent charge on aluminium imports.
