Critics claimed the ‘betrayal’ has triggered a fresh wave of Tory MPs sending no-confidence letters to 1922 Committee chairman Sir Graham Brady. Opponents believe that, if she flops at the 1922 Committee ‘show trial’, or fails to turn up, her fate will be sealed. Tory MPs have accused keen tennis player Mr Bercow of plotting the moves during matches with former Labour Minister Chris Leslie.
