A new Playboy Club will open in Manhattan in 2017, 30 years after the New York Playboy Club closed. According to Playboy, the Playboy Clubs were "the embodiment of urban sophistication, reflecting Playboy's distinctive ethos which represented quality, style and contemporary refinement." Currently, Playboy and other partners operate Playboy Clubs in London, England; Hanoi, Vietnam; and Hyderbad, New Delhi, and Mumbai, India. In 1963, feminist leader Gloria Steinem reported on her undercover stint as a Playboy Club Bunny for Show Magazine in "A Bunny's Tail." No word yet on whether the new Playboy Club will be embraced in the President Trump era or scolded by the politically correct cognoscenti.
