Government suspended the implementation of the law that mandates vehicle owners to pay an annual mandatory towing levy. Some have questioned the basis for which the NRSC awarded the contract to RSML a subsidiary of the Jospong Group owned by businessman Joseph Siaw Agyapong. Some have raised concerns of monopoly and in the statement issued by the Transport Ministry directing that the implementation is suspended, it said there have been concerns of monopoly among others hence the suspension. We cannot do anything but wait until the broad stakeholder consultation is done then we see the way forward."
