The world's biggest skateboard visits Invercargill


The skateboard is touring across the country to send the New Zealand team support for Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Two Sacred Heart School pupils managed to get the Great Olympic Skate Roadshow to visit their school in Invercargill on Friday. The roadshow is celebrating skateboarding being added as a sport for the Olympic Games and is touring to 45 towns with a 12m long skateboard that weighs 800kg. After consulting with her principal, Vanessa Williams, fellow pupil Jamie Russell, 9, joined in to write to the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC), Cook said. Eke Tahi is bigger than the current biggest skateboard for Guinness World Records, which is 11.14m, making it the largest operational skateboard in the world.
