Photo / Getty ImagesBy Louise Ternouth, RNZA young woman who needed a hysterectomy to treat chronic endometriosis has detailed the traumatic process she had to go through, with a surgeon who told her she had a responsibility to reproduce. A hysterectomy removes the uterus as a treatment for the painful bleeding caused by endometriosis during a woman's period. Treatments range from painkillers, hormone therapy, surgery to remove the tissue, or for the most extreme cases, a hysterectomy.
