KUALA LUMPUR: The government will do away with the term 'others' (lain-lain) under race selection in online application system if Barisan Nasional (BN) in returned to power. However, the call to do away with the race selection boxes was once again brought up during the nationwide TN50 aspiration gathering sessions recently. It was reported that at almost session, there had been calls for the abolishment of the race selection boxes in application forms. The younger generation mostly proposed the boxes to be simply replaced with 'Malaysian' and 'non-Malaysian' boxes instead. The TN50 gathering heard many concerns raised over the race selection box and called for the government to do away with it.
