JOHOR BARU: For more than a year, a brown female dog faithfully accompanied frontliners on duty at the KM16 Jalan Kulai-Kota Tinggi roadblock, set up since the first movement control order in March last year. Taken by the mongrel’s calm and friendly nature, one of the policemen, Kpl Mohd Faidzul Ishak, named her “Jony”. “It became a routine and we would often feed her whatever food we had, such as chicken and rice, as she does not like eating dog food, ” Kpl Faidzul, 33, told The Star. “We hope Jony can recover and go back to being her bubbly and active self soon, ” Kpl Faidzul said. When contacted, Kuan said he was only trying to highlight the friendship between Jony and the policemen to spread some positive energy during these trying times.
