The sun shines and no relief seems in sightMURRAY WILSON/STUFF There's been a lot of fine weather in Manawatū and Horowhenua. Parts of our region, it has been reliably reported, have been more than a month without rain. Real rain, that is, as opposed to the occasional tropical downpour, which has sluiced off hard-baked soils, doing more harm than good. The irony is that not many weeks ago farmers, in particular, were desperate for some dry weather. No doubt the experts, in due course, will come forth and pronounce on what it all means, or seems to mean.
