Photos: Craig BaxterA steady stream of passers-by stopped to take photos of the freshly completed mural of Ed Sheeran in Bath St, Dunedin, yesterday. The singer is due to play three concerts in the city at Easter. The mural by Dunedin artist Tyler Kennedy Stent has prompted intense debate since it was announced last week and struck a nerve with television host Hayley Holt, who said on air the singer was ‘‘boring’’ and the mural would stop her from visiting Dunedin. Holt is now part of the mural — her name features in a heart painted on the singer’s arm — and she may have had a change of heart herself. She was reported by Stuff as saying she had done some thinking, and ‘‘if fake mural Ed can wear my name in a heart on his sleeve, maybe I can open my heart to soppy love songs’’.
