In early February, legal affairs reporter Jacques Gallant asked the ministry if there were any audio recordings from McArthur’s 2003 case. At around 2:30 p.m. that day, Gallant got word his request had been granted. Yet even as a journalist who regularly covers courts, it was very difficult to get access to these recordings,” Gallant said.
