The most recent changes were agreed during a legislative commission session on Tuesday and announced Wednesday during the ongoing session. However, the elimination of a large section of the security chapter targeting social protest and an article on the budget to protect native forests was a surprise. What’s still in the billThe privatization of 41 state-owned companies, one of the most controversial parts of the bill, was left untouched. Most of the environment chapter was left untouched, including reforms to a law protecting glaciers, and broader permission to burn fields.
