The move by national assembly to adjourn the bill on Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is more political than constitutional. Their main problem was a clause that prevents politicians hoping from one political party to another after party nominations a head of forthcoming general elections. This is a self-centered decision politicians are employing to ensure that they are not shown the door come August 2017 general elections. Why would they feel that the clause is meant to infringe bill of rights and democracy? Are they afraid that they may not be able to defend their seats after failing in party nominations?
