UEFA have dropped yet another bombshell after taking the decision to scrap the away goals rule for the Champions League, Europa League and the newly-created Europa Conference League as of next season. The aggregate score was locked at 4-4, but Bayern edged through on away goals in the most dramatic of fashions. Pep Guardiola, on a hunt for his first Champions League trophy since leaving Barcelona, was again left stunned in the competition by the jaw-dropping setback. He was left with his head in his hands and out of the Champions League following a topsy-turvy evening. In the return leg, Bayern mustered up a start beyond even their wildest dreams - with Roy Makaay netting after just 10 seconds.
