Foot-in-the-mouth Mani Shankar Aiyar perhaps gave the BJP one of its biggest and best breaks in the run-up to the 2014 elections. The official BJP response has been slow and halting. In one case, a few months ago, the BJP spokesperson was only intent on shouting loudly so much so that the TV anchor lost patience. In another last week, the Congress spokesperson on a discussion on the economy and the points raised by P Chidambaram, was not only articulate but also came across as reasonable and measured. The BJP spokesperson, on the other hand, appeared confused.The Congress party, as everybody knows, is desperate.
