It is truly remarkable that the reasons that we have just celebrated the yom tov of the “Seventh Day of Passover” (Shevii Shel Pesach) is not detailed in the written Torah. However, the Midrash tells us that the miracle of the Red Sea being split took place seven days after the Jewish people left Egypt. But there are further lessons to be learned from Shevii Shel Pesach. Nachshon stepped forward, when no one else would, and entered the Red Sea and demonstrated a genuine faith that we recall until today. David HaMelech, while still a young boy, stepped forward, when no one else would, and on the field of battle faced Goliath.
