Nearly 70% of the world’s cocoa comes from two countries in west Africa– Ivory Coast and Ghana – where millions of children are estimated to be in child labour. Kitto says Stop the Traffik tries to eradicate child labour by working directly with cocoa farmers, and the companies buying their cocoa, to ensure that farmers are paid a premium when they don’t use child labour.
