The Jubilee coalition has welcomed Cord’s proposal of seven members from each side to discuss the way forward on IEBC matter. Both teams agreed that the business of the Select Committee should be concluded in one month, if not less. Jubilee has however disowned Cord’s statement that they agreed on formation of another four member committee to initiate talks. Jubilee has agreed that the two Speakers (Justin Muturi and Ekwe Ethuro) should not be involved in the negotiations. The ruling coalition said the two Speakers should perform their constitutional mandate under the standing orders to ensure that the committee on IEBC acts in accordance with the Standing Orders and the Constitution.
