An offending article - a customer complaining about a local business selling gollies - was doing the rounds. The townspeople complained the article evoked malice toward the innocent business and the woman knitting the golliwogs. The journalists said racism was a credible topic worthy of discussion - particularly in light of the mosque shootings. To censor the uncomfortable details is disrespectful - it doesn't change what's happened and victims deserve their day in court too. We want to cover stories that matter, ones that affect people, ones that can provoke change, or teach people something.
