The City’s fire fighters have braved the biggest flames they have ever fought during the civil unrest over the past few days. Brylon Brauns of Msunduzi Municipality Fire and Rescue told The Witness the biggest fire they faced was at the Brookside Mall. “We also had to attend to the fire at China Mall, Makro, small little shops around the city and other big supermarkets in the CBD as well. It was really chaotic,” Brauns said. He described the apprehension at responding to the calls.
