Alomar, the linchpin to the Blue Jays’ only World Series championships and recently voted the greatest player in franchise history, was beloved in Jays fandom. Sad not because Alomar won’t be getting his due as perhaps the greatest baseball player ever to wear the Jays’ uniform. Sad because his alleged actions have ruined all the wonderful memories we have of the Jays’ glory years. He was a great baseball player, one of the greatest ever, so he had to be a great person too, right? Nothing can take away the fact that Roberto Alomar was an all-world baseball player.
