The devastating failure to stop the online fraud scourge is today laid bare. An agreement between banks to fund a pot of money to reimburse fraud victims is due to run out at the end of June. Campaigners say banks should all be refunding fraud victims until they have in place better security checks. One unidentified bank signed up to the code, refunded just 1 per cent of fraud victims. She also says scam victims are not given enough advice on how to lobby their bank for a refund.
