Friends since school, it was a reunion of sorts (Skarlatos and Sadler hadn’t seen each other for some years). They did, and they received a call soon afterwards to say Eastwood wanted to film it. “I was but only because of the fact that these things just don’t happen, people don’t play themselves,” says Sadler. “It makes me grateful for every day that we have because we all know that we could have died that day,” says Skarlatos.
