As Ontario enters a new COVID wave, driven by the BA.5 variant, there are fierce calls to expand access to fourth doses of vaccine. According to the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table, only about 60 per cent of adults in the province have gotten a third dose. Fourth doses “should” be offered in the fall to high-risk people, including everyone over 65. In P.E.I., a second booster is recommended for everyone 12 and up six months after their last dose. “It makes sense when we hear about cases escalating, that the fourth doses be made available.”SHARE:
