Mikel Arteta is expected to oversee an overhaul of his squad this summer in the wake of their damning Europa League exit at the hands of Unai Emery’s Villarreal last week. Those players are said to include Arsenal’s current longest-serving player, Hector Bellerin, as well as Swiss international Granit Xhaka, goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Brazilians David Luiz and Willian. Arteta, who is facing increased pressure but has retained the backing of the club’s owners, has spoken openly about the need for a revamp of his squad. And when asked if his players have given their maximum this season, he said: ‘With the majority of them, yes.
