The end is in sight for the FTSE 100 winning streak


The FTSE 100 is heading for its best monthly performance since April last year and its biggest annual rise since 2016 Yui Mok/PAThe FTSE 100 was on course to finish the last full trading session of the year on a muted note as an 11-day winning streak looked set to come to an end. London’s benchmark index of leading shares was down 26 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 7,618 in morning trade, having closed in positive territory in every trading session since December 11. Despite this morning’s dip, the blue-chip index is still heading for its best monthly performance since April last year and its biggest annual rise since 2016.
