The ongoing saga involving Ken Giles and a wonky right elbow resulted in the veteran closer remaining with Toronto. Toronto general manager Ross Atkins was engaged in trade talks involving Giles right up until Wednesday’s 4 p.m. deadline. Giles first hurt his elbow during an awkward fall in Chicago on May 10 and it’s been a lingering issue ever since. “They do a great job communicating with their players,” Giles said of the Blue Jays. The trade talks haven’t stopped, they’ve just been put on pause.
