The cheapest places to buy in Ireland as house prices soar by 15.3%


The average home in Ireland now costs €282,000, 15.3 per cent more than a year ago, according to the latest Residential Property Price Index. Excluding the capital, property prices increased 16.8 per cent on average. The border and south east regions saw the biggest jumps: house prices in those regions are up 26.9 per cent and 19.8 per cent respectively. Meanwhile in Dublin, houses shot up by 13.6 per cent while apartment prices increased by 12.8 per cent. The average property costs just €114,230 there – the only place in Ireland where house prices are less than €125,000.
