The case of the dead man with two wives but no will returns to courtFAIRFAX The rightful heir of a Chinese businessman's estate is set to be determined by the Auckland High Court in July. Xie married his first wife, Jie Deng, in China in 1985, and they divorced in New Zealand in 1998. He married his second wife, Huifang Ye, in Las Vegas in 2013 then died in a car crash five months later. The case came before Justice Matthew Palmer in Auckland's High Court last year, as Deng is a New Zealand citizen and the estate is split between New Zealand and China. While a two-week trial had been set for May 2017, it did not go ahead because Deng had not complied with court directions.
