Experts say being undistracted while you eat, like when sat at the dinner table, can subtly help you recognise when you are full. Eating food on a red plate has been found to prevent over-eating. Meanwhile, Belgian philosopher Franz Delboeuf found that smaller plates could help you eat less, according to his studies dating back to the 1860s.
