The baby-faced Chinese tycoon, still in his thirties, had spotted an opportunity to buy the 16th-century Buckinghamshire pub where David Cameron and president Xi Jinping sipped pints of Greene King ale during the short-lived “golden era” of British-Chinese relations in October 2015.
