Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) speaks during a news conference outside the House Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill 0n Feb. 2. What’s more, Gaetz’s claim that “there’s been a House finding of no collusion on the intelligence committee” is important. The House Intelligence Committee majority — that is, the Republicans on the panel — released a report essentially exonerating Trump of charges of collusion last week. More broadly, it’s the same rhetorical line as Gaetz’s argument about the House Intelligence Committee’s conclusions. The Mueller probe should never have been started in that there was no collusion and there was no crime.
