A number of American virus labs, meanwhile, have been shut down in recent years because of dangerously sloppy procedures. But the notion that a natural coronavirus being studied at the lab — or another, lower-level research facility in Wuhan — had escaped earned at least some credence with the Washington Post report. There are other facts that have fuelled suspicion of the BSL-4 establishment, and the city’s lower-level Wuhan Center for Disease Control lab. Another is the nature of the research at the Wuhan labs. Still, it seems the COVID-19 virus was not human made or altered.
