Spoiler alert: This story contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 2. This episode tries so very, very hard to create tension and drama where there is none. As the aging series continues its eighth season, it needs to avoid retreading on so many plot lines it’s done before. Morgan, meanwhile, keeps flashing back to that Season 6 episode, where Rick argued in favour of killing the Saviors and Morgan argued against. Sure, Tara and Morgan have flipped sides by this time, but that’s not quite enough to justify the dragging storyline.
