The Walking Dead has already killed off Carl, who was supposed to take Rick’s place if he ever fell. I would much, much rather see The Walking Dead simply split from the comics and go in its own direction from here on out. The Walking Dead has gone off-script before with degrees of success from the Terminus storyline to the Wolf invasion. A Daryl-led Walking Dead series to me seems more prime for a spin-off, Daryl setting off on his bike by himself for some new adventure someplace else. Leading the huge ensemble of the existing Walking Dead series is another matter entirely.
