Just as Russia pulled out in a hurry and the ensuing disaster that followed, history is repeating itself. The vacating of Afghanistan by the United States without any preplanned security of the people will certainly lead to anarchy, with untold misery for those who will not toe the regime’s blatant autocratic rule. The solution in all this is for the arms supplier to starve the Taliban of weapons of mass murder. Let the UN convene an emergency meeting to address the problematic and volatile situation in Afghanistan and take appropriate and concrete measures to ensure lives of all Afghans are protected.
