Amid the pandemic, tech giants such as Facebook and Google parent Alphabet have said employees will be able to work from home for the remainder of the year, while Twitter has offered the at-home policy permanently. For many companies, this might be a relief. They can temporarily turn out the lights on their office space, reducing corporate overhead and potentially seek a less expensive lease going forward.
