The Week Ahead On Wall StreetDespite funding falling 26 percent to $4.6 billion in the last quarter of 2016, the Internet remains the dominant sector for investment in the United States. Notable deals for Internet companies in Q4 2016 included OpenDoor Labs ($210m), Buzzfeed ($200m) and Stripe ($150m), according to a report from CB Insights and PwC. Over the past 20 years, U.S. Internet companies have attracted a mammoth $187 billion in investment, the most of any business sector nationwide. Healthcare comes second for investment dollars with $150.4 billion while mobile and telecommunication rounds off the top three with $115.2 billion since the mid-90s. Fuelled by Silicon Valley's innovation, California attracted $368 billion of investment, far ahead of second placed Massachusett's $80 billion.
