Mrs May provided no new answers beyond repeating proposals made by Britain — and rejected by Brussels — last summer. What on earth does “ambitious managed divergence” mean? Mrs May did not use the phrase “managed divergence”, let alone explain what it meant. She concentrated on areas in which the UK would want to remain aligned with the EU.
