Quoting the Times, the newspaper wrote: “Reports in the international press are once again drawing Cyprus into scenarios related to war tensions in the Middle East. While the Cyprus government remains silent, the focus of the rumours is on the British bases, which appear to be reinforcing their role, even indirectly, as military launching points for potential operations.”The report also underlined that there are growing questions regarding the possible role of southern Cyprus in any escalation and the impact this could have on peace and stability in the region.
