Among the countries subject to the U.S.'s so-called "war on terror" in West Asia and its bordering regions are the following. Hundreds of thousands of civilians killed by the U.S. and terrorism. In 2007 Alan Greenspan wrote "I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: The Iraq war is largely about oil." On the contrary, organizations like the International Committee of the Red Cross and Amnesty International have documented a countless number of cases where the airstrikes have killed civilians. There are no probes into the massacres, which means the exact number of civilians killed is unknown.
