KUALA LUMPUR: The Star has bagged two awards at the MPI-Petronas Malaysian Journalism Awards 2018. Lee Chonghui won the A. Samad Ismail Young Journalist Award while Zulhaimi Baharuddin bagged the Best Frontpage Design Award on Friday (April 26). They bagged RM30,000, a trophy and certificate. Tan Sri Johan Jaafar won the 12th National Journalist Award. Earlier, Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, when launching the Malaysian Journalists Night 2019, announced scholarships for journalists wishing to further their studies at local public universities.
