KUALA LUMPUR: The Star bagged two awards at the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) Petronas Malaysian Journalism Awards 2018. Lee Chonghui won the A. Samad Ismail Young Journalist Awards while Zulhaimi Baharuddin bagged the Best Frontpage Design. Lee said she was elated at winning the award in recognition of her work on several pressing social issues. The Star and mStar also bagged consolation prizes in five other categories with the winners walking away with RM1,000, trophies and certificates. The Star columnist and veteran newsman Tan Sri Johan Jaafar won the 12th National Journalist Award which came with RM30,000, a trophy and certificate.
