By now, your eyes have adjusted to seeing a $25 billion-plus valuation associated with the Snap (SNAP) IPO, the parent of Snapchat despite its millions in losses. It is betting that the future is tied more to select advertisers in television because the future is more video than text. For that coveted demographic, they are already planning on making TV advertisers compete – competing on the future of video. I suspect part of Snap’s future sustainability is tied to making its new camera (Spectacles by Snap, Inc.) for clicking images and making short videos (snaps) user-friendly for sports activities. I can even imagine the next NBA dunk contest where players snap with one hand while dunking with the other.
