The Simpsons showrunner has issued a major update on the show's future - including plans for how it will ultimately end. Having launched in 1989, the long-running animated sitcom aired its landmark 800th episode on Sunday (February 15). He said: 'We did an episode about a year-and-a-half ago that was like a parody of the series finale. The 800th episode - titled Irrational Treasure - features guest star cameos from Kevin Bacon, Noah Wyle and Quinta Brunson.
