However, if recent iPhone 7/7 plus sales data is anything to go by (with a larger proportion of buyers opting for the higher priced 7 plus models), iPhone buyers aren't really cost-conscious customers. The iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, which were significant upgrades over the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5S, respectively, triggered record iPhone sales. Historical evidence indicates that significant design changes to the iPhone 8 could be followed by record sales.
