Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has wrestled his way to the top spot of Forbes‘ World’s highest-paid actors list for 2016. The world’s highest-paid actress, Jennifer Lawrence, who cashed in at $46 million, would have only come in sixth on the list of actors, nestled between Johnny Depp at $48 million and Ben Affleck at $43 million. Lawrence, in a particularly illuminating example of how significant the gender wage gap is, achieved 72 per cent of the Rock’s earnings. What’s more is that eight actors earned more than $20 million on the list compared to just four women. All of the actors listed are over 40, where as actresses over 40 only accounted for half of their list.
