A striking pattern emerged recently: Federal laws have lost their durability. The traditional view is that federal laws are difficult to pass and durable if passed. More prominently, President Trump ended Obama’s protections to “Dreamer” immigrants. After Congress’ failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Trump is using executive powers to neutralize key components of this law. With the same ease that Trump is deleting Obama’s legacy, Trump's current deletion can be undone.
