Dear Liz,I read your advice to the person who wanted to know how long they should wait before asking for a pay raise. The idea was that you shouldn't have to ask for a raise, because your work itself should make the case for you. I wanted to get my pay raise, get a few more tools under my belt at that job and move on. I told Patrick that if he couldn't get me a pay raise, I understood. I believe that if you don't ask for something, you don't get it.
