She finds a stash of clippings in Miles' room detailing Scarka's past exploits as well as the one that got away - Margaret St James. She returns to the kitchen where she and St James had been talking and with her hands shaking realises she can't do it. When Miles rocks up in the kitchen to kill St James it's because he knew what was going on. Sarah kicking her husband out, driving Miles to St James' house and even trying to kill her was all what Scarka wanted. Scarka tells Sarah that Miles is gone as he kneels in the field outside St James' house.
